“Sunday Long Run Day ✨ Week 7 of 19 in the Every Woman’s Marathon training journey. 15 miles tested me today—but every step is making me stronger. 💪🏃♀️ The road isn’t easy, but neither are we. One week, one run, one mile closer to the goal. 🌟 #EveryWomansMarathon #StrongerEveryStep”
Achievement unlocked: Half Marathon award, celebrating the completion of the race on 9/7/25.
Workout summary for a 15-mile indoor run, showcasing time, pace, calories burned, and heart rate.
I lost some of my best marathoning during the covid lockdowns. My last Marathon was the Marine Corps Marathon, October 27, 2019. I was 68 years old.
I had completed 2 stars for the AWMM, including Boston and New York City, and was enrolled in the Chicago Marathon when the lockdowns hit. I donated my entry fee to charity, Paws for Chicago, and said “good bye” to ever achieving the AWMM 6 stars.
During the lockdowns, I was able to achieve the virtual Abbott World Marathon Majors 6 City Challenge 2020. This is my award for running on my treadmill during those dark days.
Thank you, AWMM for hosting the many virtual runs that kept me going. I am happy to have achieved this award.
New strategy: Run 13 minutes, walk 17 minutes. Seemed easier than walking the entire 12 miles last week.
First half marathon completed since my 60s, pre-covid lockdowns. The last was the Humana Rock ’n Roll Half Marathon, Las Vegas, November 17, 2019, 2:44:39, 12:34 pace.
Ten women who are older than me finished last year’s Every Woman’s Marathon.
Enjoying the sights and sweet smells of the South Arroyo. Chatting and logging another 5k+. Building strength, endurance and heat tolerance. Strengthening friendships. Welcoming new member, Sue.
